love words--and writers. And,
have
been working with both for more
than 25 years as a magazine,
book, newsletter and wire
service editor.

Since January 2004, I've helped
more than one hundred authors,
publishers, and literary agents
with manuscript evaluations,
book proposals, content editing,
copy editing, and coaching.
My
experience includes five
years as editor of Writer's
Digest magazine, the
leading magazine for
writers. In addition to
editorial responsibility for
the leading monthly magazine
for writers, I also was

variety

writing
topics.

part

the
competitions
team
that
judged
major
competitions,
including
the

Self-Published

Awards

than
2,000
entires

writing

successfully
proposing
five
writing-related
books
in

months

Other
editing
positions
include:
- Two
years with Thomson Financial
Publishing, where I
developed, acquired content
for, edited, and helped
write six books
marketed to the smart card
industry. I also edited a
monthly newsletter on smart
cards and contributed
articles for a sister
magazine.
- Experience
as a publishing manager with
Macmillan Computer
Publishing, where I developed
and successfully proposed six
books, including the
first line extensions of the successful
Photoshop Type Magic.
- Eight
years with Advertising
Age magazine, including
two years as managing
editor, the second in
command position at the
international weekly
magazine of marketing.
Earlier, I managed freelance
writers as news editor;
while on the copy desk, I
contributed features to the
magazine's Special Reports
section.
- Nine
years with United Press
International, rising from
newswoman to bureau manager
to state editor and division
editor, overseeing news
reports for ten Midwestern
states.
